Hey all~ How are we doing on what I hope to be the last day of rain for a long long time!
So I will be moving in a few weeks. I am very excited! I am excited for many reasons. I am glad that my husband and I are finally able to get what we want. Obviously it's not my dream house. Cause my dream house is about 3,000 square feet sitting on the side of the mountain in East Tennessee! This one is what I like to call my "reality dream home." I am getting to my reason for writing today so bare with me...
Anyone that knows me knows that I love color! I love to have reds, taupe's, browns, and earth tones on my walls throughout my home. I can't stand plain cream walls! Drives me insane!
I have this awesome idea for a portrait display that I am going to do on my dining room walls. (I will post pics when I get it done) I am envisioning a compilation of these huge portraits of my pride and joy, my kids!
So I am browsing around online a little bit ago trying to get some ideas as to what color I am going to paint what room. Somehow I ended up on Extreme Home Makeover website. Once I got there I realized something. While each home is different, each story is different, each town different, there is one thing that every single one of those makeovers have in common!
It's that the show had photographers come in and take portraits of each family and they decorate the home throughout with them. So by realizing that, it made me want to point that out to you all. Family portraits are important! They are special! They really are a need. If they were not that important EHM would not do that. Family is so important! We have our memories in our heads that help us remember things, but we really need those portraits to really bring back that time. Our kids grow up much to fast. Sadly time passes. If you have one child I am sure it is passing fast. If you have two or more kids, then I am sure you realize that time passes a little more quickly once you have more than one.
I am telling you all, please set aside some time to have family portraits made! I promise you it is an investment that you will be so thankful you done. Trust me you will never look at a portrait of your family and think "ugh~ what a waste of time and money that was~" or "I wish I'd never had those pictures made'. Snapshots with your camera are great, but set aside the funds to experience having professional portraits done.
I don't care who you use. Of course I hope it's me. If not, that's fine. I just want you to get them done! One other request, don't go to Wal-Mart, Sears, or Penny's. Find a photographer that has the style you want. Okay, I am done. Please I implore you, think about what I said. I am speaking for myself and every single mother that I have photographed her kids that have told me that they are so thankful for what I have given them. I am speaking for every single photogrpaher out there.
Have a wonderful, hopefully sun-shiney, dry weekend!
